What Causes Persistent Swelling In Feet, Joint Pain, Numbness And Cramps In Legs?

default
Posted on Mon, 18 Apr 2016
Question: hi I have had swollen feet and joint pain for over a week with numbness and cramps (feet, legs back and even hand) getting worse of the last few days. Today I have been very dizzy, nearly passed out and feel unwell. I went to doctors last week and my bloods came back with a mild thrombocitisis but she said nothing too unusual to be causing what is going on. waiting to see a rheumatologist but not till another month away. Should I go to the hospital or wait and seek a second opinion? Can you give me any answers.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
Can be due to arthritis and electrolyte imbalance.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The swelling in the feet with numbness and crams is likely to be due to arthritis. The numbness, dizziness and cramps can be due to decreased fluid intake or electrolyte imbalance. You need to take electrolyte rich fluid like Garotade and a mild pain killer. Do keep your feet elevated on two pillows to decrease the swelling.
It is best to get some pain killers and muscle relaxants prescribed from your physician and see if it helps. You can wait for the second opinion with their help.
I hope this answers your query.

ok thank you. Could the dizziness and unwell feeling be due to an infection maybe? That is my concern at this minute. I had a Gatorade earlier but with no help
