What Causes Persistent Swollen Glands Under The Jaw?

Should be evaluated to rule out, chronic cold, tonsillitis, avoiding substances irritating mouth
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome.
I have gone through your query.
The definitive diagnosis is difficult on net but I’ll try and narrow down the diagnosis for you. You need to discuss these options with your doctor.
The swollen gland appears to be lymph node which commonly swell when you have a cold or sore throat. They become tender and swell after an injury, such as a cut or bite, or infection occurs in the mouth, head, or neck. Other possibility is tonsillitis, which can present with similar symptoms.
In your case as you have mentioned about the mouth ulcer, this is one of the possible causes.
I would recommend you to see your healthcare provider for primary examination. I would have recommended you to avoid substances that irritates your mouth, like avoiding spicy food, too hot food, excessive consumption of tea or coffee, carbonated drinks and alcohol for time being. Along with this I would suggest you to maintain high degree of oral hygiene. . I would have asked you to use chlorhexidine mouth wash twice daily morning and before going to bed, salt water gargaling two to three times daily. I would have decided on the need of medication based on the examination.
This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.
I hope this suggestion might be of some help to you.
Take care.
