What Causes Persistent Vertigo?

Posted on Fri, 26 Jun 2015
Question: I am 43 and suffering from reeling of head. It is not severe, but persistent. My BP is normal. I had a Cervical Spine X-ray done and there isn't too much of a problem there, apart from reduced gap between C3 to C6 and signs of early early degeneration.

Brief Answer:
To be kept under observation/ENT evaluation if it persists.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up and providing the details.

With the present clinical history, there appears to be no obvious reason for which you should have persistent reeling of the head.
I suggest you to do mental relaxation exercises/meditation/yoga/cardio exercises regularly and maintain good hydration(at least 4 litres of fluids per day).I hope the symptoms will improve.Your stress factor can be one of the possible cause for this symptom.Regular exercise/mental relaxation will ease off the mental stress and hence is likely to improve the symptom.
Meanwhile, please continue taking tab.vertin 16 mg on sos(at the time of symptoms) basis. If the symptom still keep on persisting, please visit an ENT specialist for evaluation of vertigo.

PLEASE TAKE ALL MEDICINES UNDER A PHYSICIAN'S GUIDANCE.

Hope that I have answered your query. If you have some follow-up questions,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread, rate it and write a review as your rating will be of help to me.

Regards
Dr.Ajay Panwar,
MD,DM(Neurology)
