Posted on Fri, 5 May 2017
Question: For last 15 days or so I am experiencing a unique problem. As soon as I start walking after eating, gastric busts start hitting my diaphragm and pinching pain in my arms just above the elbows. This is relieved as soon as this is released thru food pipe. But at times it becomes very painful to walk even 100 m even after taking antacids like Diegene

Brief Answer:
Worthwhile to get an endoscopy....

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I went through your details. Your symptoms are consistent with dyspepsia and acid peptic disease. However other causes including hiatus hernia cannot be ruled out without evaluation. In this condition, I will recommend you visit a gastroenterologist. In my opinion barium meal / endoscopy needs to be done. Discuss with a gastroenterologist.

In the meantime, avoid eating full meals / heavy meals. Prefer to eat small and frequent meals instead. you may also take a proton pump inhibitor like pantoprazole 40mg once a day for 2 weeks.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Regards
