What Causes Poor Erection Despite Taking Viagra?

default
Posted on Mon, 2 Jan 2017
Question: I have received my prescription for 50 mg tablets of Viagra, and have used two of them thus far. They have had little effect on the hardness or strength of my erections. The erections are fair, but not really sufficient for penetration during sexual activity. I wonder if it is possible to double the dosage to 100 mg. I had no unpleasant side effects from the 50 mg. tablets except for the lack of a really good, hard erection.

All of the information requested below was supplied in my original question on 23 November, 2016.

Brief Answer:
Poor resthosinpnse to Viagra is mostly due to age related atherosclerosis .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you are facing problem of Erectile Dysfunction (ED) and have taken 50 mg of Viagra but failed to get desired erection to have penetrative sex .

The basic cause of ED at this age is generalized atherosclerosis of blood vessels that also involves Penile Arteries that supply arterial blood to erectile tissue in penis resulting in to reduced blood flow and there by Erectile Dysfunction .

Though are taking Amlodepine but do not have any side effects of lowering blood pressure after taking Viagra you can certainly increase the dose to 100 mg as on demand .
If you are taking Amlodepine once daily take it in the morning and take Viagra one hour before only on the day of planned sexual activity .

I would suggest you to get Color Doppler Ultrasound Scanning of Penis done to confirm or rule out vasculogenic cause for your ED.This will help to guide regarding usefulness or efficacy of taking Viagra.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

Thank you for your response. Does it matter if I take the 100 mg. dose of Viagra one hour or two hours before engaging in sexual activity? And how long can I expect the effects of Viagra to last? 3 hours, 4 hours?

With the 50 mg dosage I was able to achieve a moderate erection that was more than sufficient to allow me to receive great oral sex, but I would very much like to achieve sufficient firmness/hardness to permit me to engage in vaginal sex also, providing my partner is on top and I am on the bottom, because of the shortness of breath resulting from COPD.

Brief Answer:
There is no risk in taking 100 mg of Viagra.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up .

You can have trial of 100 mg of Viagrar one hour before planned sex .The effect generally last for 4 hours .

The second alternative to Viagra is to take Cialis 5 mg daily in the evening and 10 mg of Cialis on the day of planned sex .If needed you may increase it to 20 mg depending upon hardness of penis after erection .This works better than taking 100 mg of Viagra and has low incidence of lowering blood pressure .

Thanks and Regards.
