What Causes Poor Fetal Weight Gain During 36th Week Of Pregnancy?

I am now in 36th week of pregnancy . Last week I got my color Doppler done and radiologist told me that weight of babyis less then it should have been ideally. Baby weights 2 kgs and should have been minimum 2.5 kgs. I consulted my gynaecologist and she was not concerned and worried about this. She told me all color Doppler parameters are normal and baby's weight is not a concern for her. I am very anxious about it. Please tell me is baby really under weight? Gynae has also prescribed me high protein diet along with argipreg granules. This worry increased my bp and gave me sleepless nights. Baby is in breech position and doctor is planning for delivery anytime after 10th XXXXXXX Can baby still chang the position? Please help!!
Have 300 colories extra from carbohydrates
Detailed Answer:
Dear Mrs. XXXXXXX XXXXXXX
I do appreciate and empathize your concern.
At 36 weeks, 2 kg weight is definitely at the lower level. Moreover, if your Obstetrician is planning to deliver you by 10 January, hardly two weeks have been left for you. In this short time, how much weight the baby can gain! At the time of birth, the baby should have at least 2500 gms weight to be sufficiently mature to face this word. If you add about 300 calories through carbohydrates in addition to the high protein diet, it would help baby to gain more weight. I would appreciate if your Obstetrician weights till 40 weeks if there are no conditions indicating the risk in continuation of pregnancy. With any such risk, early delivery has priority.
The position of the baby can change up to 34 weeks of pregnancy. Now after 36 weeks, it is very unlikely that the baby will change to head down position spontaneously. You should not hope for this.
I would also appreciate if you upload all your previous reports with images so that we can discuss the case more in details.
Please do not have any stress and sleepless nights. This will further affect the growth of the baby adversely. You may take help of a counselor if needed.
I feel, to start with this is a sufficient advice. However, for any more information, I am always available for you, XXXXXXX XXXXXXX
