Question: my daughter is 8months old and I am concerned about her weight gain. She is around 6.2kg now however very active
Her birth weight was 2.48kg.
Is this normal? What could be done for nominal weight gain?

The weight of a child should double by 5 months of age and triple by 10-12 months of age. The weight gain seems to be slightly lagging but all you need to do is to give proper diet. The child should already be receiving semi solids by now. You have to gradually move entirely to semi solids, making milk just an accessory. Breast milk can be continued but make sure that the child received semi-solids at 2-3 hourly intervals. With that, the weight gain should be proper.
