I have completely reviewed your health query, and well realize all those concerns. Being your physician, I will take care all of them today and will extend my expertise to solve the problems.


Bilirubin normally is excreted in the stools. There is no bilirubin in urine. If there is bilirubin in urine that means whether there is hepatic disease like cirrhosis or hepatitis OR there is any blockage in the flow of Bile in the liver and gallbladder bile vessels that carry bile from liver to the gallbladder and then to the small intestine (hepatobiliary system).

There is another chemical named Urobilinogen that is made after the breakdown of bilirubin in body. It is also excreted via stools and not present in urine. Its presence in urine is again indicative of the same reasons as discussed above.

Final suggestion:-
Consult a Gastroenterologist for proper evaluation and management. He will start you from taking history including drinking and smoking history. Then he will have to run a battery of diagnostic tests on you to confirm the diagnosis and to see what is causing this bilirubin in urine. Treatment goes accordingly after reviewing the test results.
