What Causes Pressure On The Ears During An Episode Of Vomiting?

Question: My grandson is 5. He throws up very often. I noticed that before he vomits he puts his fingers in his ears, looks distressed,and then pukes. This has been going on for over a year. What could be causing the ear discomfort follwed by his throwing up?

The pressure on the ears rises during an episode of vomitting. This may be increasing the pain that he may feel in the ears. And I feel that this is the reason why he puts the finger in ears.
I think it is best to meet a gastroenterologist and find out why he has been having repeated vomitting .
