What Causes Profuse Sweating While On Adderall?

default
Posted on Tue, 30 May 2017
Question: I am prescribed adderall and have been taking it for about two years. With the weather warming up I have trouble controlling my sweating in certain situations. I know that sweating is a side effect. Adderall has helped me but I am to the point of having to quit taking it due to the sweating. Is there anything I can take to control the sweating?

Brief Answer:
Reducing dose may help

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Health Care Magic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

There are two options which can be explored at primary level.

The first is to reduce dose by 5-10 mg per day.

The second option is to use pacitane which is anticholinergic medication and decreases sweating but unfortunately cost of it's own side effects.

In addition non phrmacological approach can help which includes
1. Plenty of water intake
2. Use of conditioners
3. Staying at places where the temperature is not too high
4. Avoiding spicy foods
5. Regular bath followed by scrabbing the skin to open pores.

I hope this helps you.

Thanks and regards.
