What Causes Prolonged Menstrual Periods After Taking Progesterone?

It is normal to have a long or heavy period after missing one for a while
Detailed Answer:
Hello, and I hope I can help you today.
I am assuming you were given progesterone to make you have a period because you have missed a few cycles. When you do finally menstruate, it is common to have it be really heavy and/or last longer than normal as the tissue in the uterus has build up over time.
It is also not unusual to have irregular cycles for the first 6 months coming off birth control pills.
If you continue to have irregular cycles off the pill for more than a year, or if you don't get your period for 6 months, you should see a GYN doctor for a hormonal evaluation.
I hope I adequately answered your question and that my advice was helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact me further if you need anything further.
Best wishes, Dr. Brown

Sorry- I am a gynecologist- skin is not my area of expertise
Detailed Answer:
Hello today-
I am sorry I am an OBGYN- I specialize in women's health- of the breasts and reproductive organs and pregnancy. I am not qualified to make a diagnosis of a skin problem. I assume those spots are a type of fungal infection but the only way to know for sure is to see a dermatologist- a doctor for skin- and they can take a skin scraping and look at it under a microscope to make a diagnosis.
If you have any questions or clarifications related to your progesterone issues or any women's health problem- please do not hesitate to ask me further.
Otherwise you will be best served by asking this question to a specialist for skin.
I am sorry I could not help you further on this subject.
Take care, Dr. Brown
