What Causes Prominent Visible Indentation In The Skull?
Question: Approximately 2 weeks ago I discovered, for the first time, an indentation on the top of my skull. My wife has confirmed that this is a recent development. My doctor has sent me for xrays of the skull and cervical spine (I have had some related neck pain). He told me that that he doubted the xrays would show anything. What could cause this and what treatment would be prescribed?

I very much doubt if the examinations and X-ray would show anything. While it might be reported as a recent development, I rather think it just got more noticed and probably due to increased attention.
An indentation of the skill requires great impact/trauma and you seem not to report any. You will not need treatment if this is all that you are concerned about at this time.
In all, probably benign and more noticed than a recent development. No need for any specific treatment.
