Brief Answer:
unless bleeding disorder, bleeding would stop within minutes

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Trauma can cause damage to small or larger blood vessels but the smaller ones typically.

Generally once there is no history of bleeding disorders or anti coagulant medication, the bleeding would have stopped within minutes though the blood that leaked from these vessels would still be present in the surrounding tissues.
This would cause the discoloration that you are seeing.

As the blood breaks down to discoloration would also start to change as well.

The use of ice is appropriate for short periods of time for the first one to three days. Use for 5 to 10 mins, two to three times daily. Elevating the lower body and use of a bandage would help if there is swelling.
Paracetamol or ibuprofen would help reduce the inflammation as well

(If there is a history of bleeding disorders or using anti coagulants then the bleeding itself would be prolonged.) In that would need to hold off any clotting medication and seek medical attention.
