Brief Answer:
Get done ecg and 2d echo.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Chest pain especially left sided and breathing difficulty on lying down are commonly seen with heart diseases.
You are also having post menopausal age (54 years). So heart diseases are common in this age.
So better to first rule out heart diseases in your case.
So get done ecg, 2d echo, stress test (trade mill test) first.
You may need diuretic and other cardiac supportive drugs.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Do you have breathlessness on exertion?

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Health Care Magic.
So you are a smoker. Smokers are at high risk for heart diseases and bronchitis.
Both these can cause similar symptoms at night.
So please let me know
1. Since how many years you smoke? How many cigarettes per day?
2. Do you have breathlessness on exertion?
3. Do you have gastritis or gaseous distention of stomach or burping? This is to rule out GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) because GERD can cause similar symptoms and smokers are known to develop GERD.
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
