What Causes Raised Bump Near Urethral Opening?
Question: I'm worried about a flesh colored bump near my penis hole. it doesn't seem to be irritated or leaking, but it steadily looks like it's raising. Sometimes in a certain light or after masturbation i see other spots. I had unprotected sex 4 days ago too. Can you tell me what might be going on?
Brief Answer:
Use a topical steroid cream
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I am Dr. kakkar. I have read your question and I have reviewed the image.
I can see some redness ans a slightly raused bump around the urethral opening. It does'nt seem much to worry about. Looks like irritated skin probably due to soap i.e contact dermatitis.
I would suggest you to apply a moderately potent topical steroid e.g triamcinolone acetonide cream and it should be fine.
Avoid washing it with soap. Use just plain water.
Regards

Thank you for your expertise and consideration. Is the triamcinolone acetonide cream able to be purchased over the counter or is it something I need to be prescribed by a Dr.? I have been using dial antibacterial soap. You mean I should just wash with water for now? How long should I only wash the area with water?
Thank you again.
Thank you again.
Brief Answer:
You may use hydrocortisone 1% cream. It is otc
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
I think Triamcinolone is a prescription steroid in your country. If you are not able to find it otc, you may try a different otc steroid i.e hydrocortisone 1% cream, however, it is a mild steroid as compared to triamcinolone.
Yes, only use water to clean the area. No soap.
