What Causes Raised Eosinophil Count?

Question: hi my last blood results I've gotten there was a test for eosinophils and it was a .7 where it shows normal is 1.0- 3.0 percent is that something to worry about?
Brief Answer:
points to allergy
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Raused eosinophil count is usually indicative of allergy and should be seen inthe light of symptoms.
Some signs of allergy like excessive sneezing or cough ir some skin allergy usually points to a particular allergy. Besides allergy some parasitic infestations can also lead to raised eosinphil count.
You need to discuss with your doctor why in tge first place the count was asked for. Then the reasons for raise can be discussed. Further absolute eosinophil count (AES) is usually asked for to have more clear view. If AES isn't done, I would order for it. You can check with your treating doctor.
Feel free to ask another query.
Regards
