What Causes Random Sharp Pain In The Crotch Area?
Question: Me:Male, 53, 5'9", 185, exercise 3- 4 times a week, mainly treadmill, light weight work.
Random sharp pains very high in inner thigh, probably considered crotch area, only on right side, slightly more to the back of the inner thigh. Pain is very quick lasting 1-5 second or so. Happening for about a month, not every day though, sometimes a few days in between, although has happened more than 5 times already today. Occurs sitting or standing. Comes on with no warning, painful enough to make me flinch/jump then disappears as if nothing happened, although if I exert pressure on spot (seems to be same spot every time) immediately after occurrence, I do feel dull residual pain briefly.

Brief Answer:
Can be minor capsular inflammation.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Random sharp pain in the crotch area that is intermittent can be related to a minor capsular inflammation of the hip joint. Can be related to stress. Mild pain killers and a hot compress can help. You need to avoid doing excessive exercise or the painful movements. Taking joint lubricant supplements will also help.
I hope this answers your query.
