What Causes Rapid Heart Beats While Suffering From Diarrhea?

default
Posted on Tue, 20 Dec 2016
Question: I am 65, diabetic, hypertension patient. At a routine podiatrist appointment, the doctor told me my heart rate was elevated over 110. I would not have known otherwise. I have more symptoms that may or may not be related and that's my question. I addition to the pulse rate at 90-100, I have a very stiff neck. I have very loose and watery bowel movements. In addition my right ear is quite swollen and itchy. Do you have any ideas? My primary care doctor is on vacation until Monday, and being on Medicare it's very expensive to go to an emergency room

Brief Answer:
Should stabilize diarrhea first....

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concern.

1. Having loose and watery stool is indicating possible Gastroenteritis. Viral infection are the most common cause while bacterial infection or parasitic infection of bowels are also to consider.

2. If not treated adequately, dehydration might happen which can cause rapid heart beats.

Infection itself is also causing increased heart rate.

3. The very first thing is to treat diarrhea. Stool examination And culture is recommended to determine the right cause.

Increase fluids intake especially plain water with OTC ORS. Take pepto bismol or tasectan for diarrhea.
Take probiotics to stabilize intestinal flora.
Take chamomile tea or valerianna at bedtime.

If no improvement should consult your physician as soon as possible.

Wish fast recovery.
