Brief Answer:
Seizures need to be excluded first.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

In my opinion, two conditions should be considered in your case:

1. Temporal lobe partial seizures

2. Stress and panic disorder.

The former should be addressed with further examinations such normal EEG, sleep study and video EEG.

Symptoms you describe actually may be related to temporal seizures ( partial ) even that there is no limb(s) jerking etc.

If seizures will be excluded after such examinations, panic disorder remains the most likely diagnosis and you should discuss with a Psychologist about such issue.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards.

Brief Answer:
It could be aura.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.

Yes, it can be aura that may manifest with symptoms similar to yours.

Hippocampal atrophy is a relatively common finding in MRI imaging studies of the people suffering from temporal lobe seizures, so, it is not a normal finding.

I think video EEG, or EEG performed during these attacks should reveal the true nature of your condition.

Awaiting for images of MRI to be uploaded.

Hope I helped you.

Wishing you good health.
