What Causes Rapidly Fluctuating Blood Pressure?

Question: I went to the doctor today blood pressure was 148/101 theen they took a ekg and said it was ok not the best it should be and then they let me go. if it was serious would they have let me go? also when I came home I took my blood pressure 3 times and this is what it read 131/85 114/79 119/79 how can my blodd pressure change so much?

I read your query and understood your concerns.

If your problem was serious they wouldn't let you go. Your blood pressure was slightly elevated and only lifestyle change and diet may be sufficient to control your BP. If this isn't sufficient than medical therapy should be started.

When you check your BP at home you recorded three different values between 115-130/ 79-85 mmHg. It's a well known fact that BP measurement done by the same person, with the same BP monitor may vary with ± 20/10 mmHg. This difference is within normal range of variation from measure to measure and you shouldn't be worried about that.
