What Causes Rash On Arms And Legs After Getting Ceftiaxone Through IV?
Question: My 3year old daughter was being treated for a double ear infection with cefprozil for 10 days out of a 14 day script but a fever returned an so did pain. Took her to ER the gave IV fluids and antibiotics, Ceftiaxone 650mg also by IV and she woke up the next morning with pimple like rash on her ace which has spread to her arms, legs, feet buttocks and made worse in the sun. Was better when she first got up this morning but came back once outside. Is this from the IV antibiotics?s

As per your history your daughter having recurrent ear infection on both the ear , which is common in children with adenoid , allergy & tonsillitis . So rule out this causes & eliminate them to prevent recurrent attacks.

We are curious how long we can expect this rash to continue since it was just the one time IV treatment? ER visit was four days ago now. Thank you.
