What Causes Rash On Hands Along With Dry Skin?

default
Posted on Mon, 2 Feb 2015
Question: I have been taking 25 mg toprol xr, once daily, for two weeks. For the past several days I have noticed a rash on the back of my hands. It seems to be getting worse; at first it seemed like dry skin, then it began to be red and inflamed and now it seems to be spreading. The toprol is the only new thing I've started- no new soaps, foods, etc. Could that be the problem?

Brief Answer:
Toprol And Pruritus correlated.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Toprol also called metoprolol is the reason for this itch. Youa re one of those 5 % people who get pruritus when using this medication.

Best course of action would be to change the drug after discussing it with your doctor. Until and unless you stop toprol, these itching symptoms won't fade away even if you use moisturizers or any antihistamine for the relief. Nip the evil and replace it with a friendly one.

I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Take care.
