What Causes Rashes On Face After Using Glycolic Toner?
Question: Hello, I used a glycolic 10% toner for 2 days and developed a rash that looks like a lot of whiteheadson my face that is not reducing. It's been four days since I've applied products on my skin. My doctor informed me that it should clear up within a week but the rash is not showing any signs of improvement and that my skin was irritated by the glycolic acid.I'm wondering if I need to seek consultation from a dermatologist and I want to know if the rash is permanent. What can I do to get rid of the rash/whiteheads?
Brief Answer:
Allergic reaction
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query.
There is a possibility that you have developed an allergic reaction to glycolic acid.
Application of a mild steroid cream like mometasone should help you.
Try this cream for a week.
If possible upload a photograph of the involved area.
This will help me in giving a closer diagnosis.
Thank you.
