Recurrence of the mole
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I understand from your query that you had a mole excised and are now having a similar looking lesion at the same spot.
Based on your history, I feel that you may be having a recurrence of the mole.
Moles are of 3 types- depending on the depth where the mole cells ( melanocytes) concentrate, they can be junctional, compound and intradermal. Compound and intradermal moles are deeper in the skin and a few mole cells might have spread to the side of the mole as well. So, when we remove the mole in toto, there may still be mole cells in the surrounding which have the potential to grow back.
A surgeon will always weigh the pros and cons of recurrence v/s an ugly scar. If we try removing a mole very deep or excise the surrounding tissue as well, we will end up with an ugly scar. This is again not cosmetically acceptable. Hence, a surgeon has be little conservative while excising of the mole, at the same time, try to get most of the mole out.
This often leads to recurrences of the mole.
You could discuss with the plastic surgeon about the other options such as laser excision if you do not want surgical excision again. Even laser excision has the same pros and cons.
Hope this helps you.
If you have any more queries, I will be glad to assist.

Thanks for your answer.
Saw plastic surgeon today and he said it is not a reoccurence of the mole,
but possibly a stich that was taken out may have lodged and did not disolve.
He puncutured the site and extracted blood and a little puss, but a bandage and bacitracin and I'm hoping he's right.
Sound ok?
Thanks,

Recurrence of mole
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Greetings!
Your initial history mentioned that it is already 2 months since the mole excision was done. And that all the sutures were removed.
That is the reason I suspected a recurrence.
Since your plastic surgeon has a different view point and since he has actually seen the lesion, we will have to accept his impression of the current condition.
It is good if you do not have any recurrence.
Hope it heals without any complications.
Take care.
