Brief Answer:
Where exactly you have pain in abdomen, eliminate caffeine, alcohol, nicotine

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome.
I have gone through your query.
Where exactly you have abdominal pain. Is it on rt or left side, upper half or lower, or around umbilical region.
Was any micro organism isolated from your urine? Or had you undergone only urine routine.

If you drink water and your body is already hydrated it will be promptly eliminated by your kidneys.
This is a normal response that keeps you from being overly hydrated were retained water would damage your brain cells.
I would suggest you to Eliminate caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol this can greatly reduce your symptoms. Drink cranberry juice which is beneficial.

I would recommend you to follow this measure for week and if it does not help, I would have have asked you for ultrasound abdomen to rule out any pathology.

This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.

Hope this helps.
Take care.

Do you think that given the good response to the 5 days of antibiotics, I could have a urinary tract or bladder infection. However urine test was clear. Any other ideas of what these symptoms suggest. Blood tests for usual infection and elctolytes were normal. Would a gastorintestional infection be more likely? Any recommendations would be appreciated as my local doctor tried the antibiotics as a guess.
