What Causes Recurrent Abdominal Pain?

We went to an walk in paediatric clinic tonight. The doctor ordered urine test and the preliminary result shows white blood cell. Doctor also checked her tummy by hand and thinks her liver a bit large. He ordered blood test. Full result of blood test and urine test will be available after 2 days. The doctor also prescribed Teva-Cephalaxin, antibiotics to start and asked us to see her paediatrician once test result comes back.
Since she didn't have any fever (no fever for the past 3 weeks), i wonder whether we need to take the antibiotics right away or wait 2 days? Just in case the doctor can give her more suitable antibiotics after seeing the test result.
Also what can lead to enlarged lever at this young age? We did go to South XXXXXXX 6 months ago but she was vaccinated for hepatitis A and B before the travel. And her complains of tummy hurt was long before the traveling.
Thanks!

Wait for the lab reports before starting antibiotics
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I understand your concerns but don't worry. Your child seems to be suffering from recurrent abdominal pains and it's not advisable to start with antibiotics unless and until a bacterial infection is present.
The liver can be sometimes palpable even in normal situations. A better parameter for hepatomegaly is liver span measurement or ultrasound abdomen.
At present the best approach would be to wait for lab reports which should include CBC, CRP, SGOT, SGPT, S. sodium and potassium, S. Amylase, urine examination and ultrasound abdomen. Hold any antibiotics till the reports come.
You may upload the reports for my reference so that I may help you in the best possible way.
Take care
