What Causes Recurrent Fever In A 2 Year Old Infant?
Focus of infection should be determined
Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome
I appreciate your concern
Calpol 250 alone would be sufficient for a temperature pattern that you just described. Your son needs to be examined to look for a possible focus of infection e.g pharyngitis, tonsillitis, otitis media or lower respiratory tract infection. Complete blood count, ESR and chest x ray can be advised if the fever spikes to 102 or 103 degrees F despite symptomatic treatment. Antibiotics would be required to treat a bacterial infection, if suspected. If viral infection is the cause then there is no need for antibiotics in this regard.
Wishing you best of health
Thanks
