You seem to have intractable hiccups. It not that common and are difficult to treat in an elderly. The physiology of the hiccup is large with a reflex XXXXXXX Any lesion in this XXXXXXX can lead to this.

Right now it is very difficult to pin point the exact reason for hiccup without good information. Right from heart disease, stroke, tumors and simple causes like GERD, some medications all can cause hiccup as it is just a gush of air into the airway.
