What Causes Recurrent Itching And Redness On Foreskin?
As it didn't go away I asked a doctor on here and he suggested Daktacort which seemed to have helped. Anyway it went away temporarily.
However this week the redness and slightly raw sensation on the head of my penis and on the retracted foreskin has returned and I am using the Daktacort again while I am travelling. However I wonder if you think there is something else going on or I should try a different cream/solution.
Also I am having sex frequently at the moment and now wonder if this is catching. As mentioned my recent STDs were all clear. Please let me know what you think.
I have stopped using this today but the redness persists. Should I continue the creme or stop or is there something else you would recommend.

Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I have read your question and I have noted your complaints.
You have been treating for yeast/ candida. However, if it is recurring you must get your blood sugar levels checked. Raised blood sugar is one of the most common reasons for recurrent candidal balanoposthitis. In addition, for candidal balanoposthitis you may also take an oral antifungal e.g Fluconazole Or Itraconazole for better results, in addition to topical daktacort (miconazole ).
If possible send in an Image so that I am able to get a look at the condition. There are certain other conditions which need to be considered for redness on glans, particularly at your age, like plasma cell balanitis of Zoon's and Erythroplasia of Queyart. You may upload an Image either at "Reports Section" Or you may mail me at YYYY@YYYY with the subject line as Attention:Dr.kakkar.

Also if it's sexually transmittable to my partner. (Male)

I think we can eliminated sugar as I am checked during my annual health check (last November) and reading is always below six. Plus not overweight.
I attach a photo showing redness. Please let me know what you think.
Also is this condition transmittable during oral sex ?
Regards
Does'nt seem like candidal infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thank you for the image.
I don't see much of a problem in this image. Things look fine to me. Does'nt look like a yeast infection at all and other things i.e plasma cell balanitis or erythroplasia, are no more in my list of possibilities. May be you had a candidal infection earlier but that seem to have resolved now.
The redness and slight raw sensation could be due to frequent sex or may be due to Latex allergy, if you are using a condom.
I suggest you to clean this area with a lukewarm water and avoid soaps or antiseptics solutions etc to clean the delicate skin of glans. Use a mild topical steroid e.g hydrocortisone 1% or 2% cream, twice daily.
