Question: Hi ,I have been having recurrent pain in the sternum area often food seems to make it worst almost like nothing wants to digest, also I've noticed the whites of my eyes appear slightly yellowed, could this be liver related?I had gallbladder removed approx.15-18 years ago.
Brief Answer:
Following tests advised to determine the final diagnosis...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.
1. Having a recurrent pain in the sternum area with foods that make it worst is indicative for possible stomach/liver problems.
A further evaluation by GI specialist is needed as following:
- upper endoscopy (to rule out ulcer or any liver problem)
- abdominal ultrasound
- liver/kidney/pancreas function test
- complete blood count
- urine analysis
2. Apart Pepcid, you might need PPIs (e.g. omeprazole), simethicone for bloating, probiotics to stabilize GI flora.
Hope it was of help!
