What Causes Recurrent Pain In The Groin Area?
I have right groin pain recurring for sometime. Last month I got , a break in left groin crease. I thought its a normal fungal infection and applied candid cream for one day. It was there for two days and cleared away. I consulted a STD specialist freaking , if that is herpes. She denied it. I got it now again. I am attaching the image. It is not itching. I didnt scratch it. Kindly advice.
Possible fungal infection also seems overlapped with a bacterial infection

Hello,
Thank you for using HCM to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I saw your photo too.
I'll agree with your doctor that it doesn't look like herpes.
It looks like a fungal infection but also like a bacterial infection, which may have overlapped the first infection.
I would suggest to continue using the cream that you are using (candid). It will need around 2 weeks maximum with it. If at some point the cream makes it worse or not better, then you can try a triple antibiotic locally.
What about the pain in the other side ? Or you wrote it just by mistake ? Please give me some more information about it, in case you have it, so I can understand what you mean exactly.
Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you need more clarifications.

Sorry if i question has caused bit of confusion. Last month I got similar wound/rash in my left groin. But the mild pain was in right groin. This time I had similar mild pain yesterday in same right groin and I got this rash in same right groin itself. I dont know what is causing it.
please provide some more information

Hello,
Thank you for the follow-up question.
I still continue with the same advice as above.
About the pain, I think it may be not related, unless you mean a skin pain.
Can you please give some more information about the pain?
-- Is it in the skin or its deep in the joint or muscles?
-- How do you describe it? - dull pain. sharp, burning, ect
-- Where is it localized? Does it radiate somewhere else?
-- Did it happened just once? How much it lasted?
-- From 0-10 how big was the pain?
-- What makes it worse or better?- movement, medications, ect
Please let me know this information and I will be happy to answer.

Pain is in groin. No tender to touch. My scrotum in right side is slighlty bulged. Nurse saw it and guessed it could be hernia
-- How do you describe it? - dull pain. sharp, burning, ect
It is painful but tolerable pain. So it would say dull pain
-- Where is it localized? Does it radiate somewhere else?
It doesn't raidate. It is either in scrotum or groin.I could feel pain during walk and settles down when i sit.
-- Did it happened just once? How much it lasted?
It has happened from Feb. It comes like randomly like every month
-- From 0-10 how big was the pain?
-- I would say 4
-- What makes it worse or better?- movement, medications, ect
-- It should be walk or standing for a longer time.
possible diagnoses that fit the description. An examination is needed
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the explanation. I can understand much clear now.
It looks like it may be either an 1) inguinal hernia or 2) varicocele (enlarged veins in the scrotum). Also you need to check for 3) enlarged lymph-nodes there.
In order to diagnose with certainty which of those options is the diagnoses, I would recommend doing a scrotal and inguinal examination and then if needed an ultrasound scan because all these diagnoses give pain alike you have described.
I hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you have other questions or concerns.
