What Causes Recurrent Reddish Rash On Penis Head?
I have a few questions that will help me understand your situation
Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I have a few questions and one request in order to better diagnose and help you, they are:
1. Do you live in a place where it is warm and/or humid?
2. Do you sweat often?
3. How would you rate your personal hygiene on a scale of 0-5, 0 being extremely poor and 5 being paranoid?
4. Are you sexually active? If yes, do you often stay in bed or go to sleep after sexual penetration or climax, without washing and/or drying the region?
5. Do you masturbate often? And do you leave the region wet after doing so?
6. Do you wash up after sexual intercourse or masturbation?
7. Request: Can you please upload clear images of the affected region to our discussion or email them to me at:
YYYY@YYYY
and please mention "ATTN: Dr. Shoaib Khan" in the subject line so it can be easily directed to me.
I look forward to hearing from you in order to better help you. Please do take time out to answer all my questions, and please do not miss or skip any questions, because I need all that information to provide you with an accurate response.
Best wishes.
1. Iive in New XXXXXXX
2. I am Sexually active
3. In hygiene I would say 4.
4. More often I don't wash up right away after sex or masturbation
5. I do run, so I do sweat from time to time.
6. I am uploading images. My biggest concern if this might be something more serious as std.
7. I heard I might need to use an antifungal, but see little reaction to subdue the redness.
Most likely to be associate with penile candidiasis (yeast infection)
Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.
Thank you for that information sir.
The images uploaded and information provided do point towards a fungal/yeast infection and less likely towards other STD's, and so here is my advise:
+Avoid sexual contact and masturbation for at least the next 3 weeks
+Use clotrimazole cream over the region for the next 4-6 weeks
+Take 1 tablet of 150 mg fluconazole once, and then repeat 1 tablet of 150 mg fluconazole orally again in 3 weeks time
+Keep the genitalia clean and dry at all times
+Always stay in a well ventilated room to avoid sweating in the groin region
+Make sure you take a shower everyday and dry off well enough using a separate clean and dry towel only for your genitalia
+Carry an extra pair of inner wear which I would advise you to change around mid-day to avoid staying in the same inner wear for too long
+For future reference: Always wash and dry off immediately after sexual contact no matter how lazy or sleepy you feel :)
+You can also choose to use a talcum powder to help absorb all the extra moisture in the region
+Make sure you dry off soon after the run, do not stay in the same clothes for long
I hope you find my response helpful sir. Honestly speaking, I think your issue is more to do with leaving the region moist, which is a breeding ground where fungus thrive, avoid that and you should be golden. Please also do not hesitate to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.
Best wishes.
