What Causes Recurrent Swollen Lymph Node?
Question: For a little over a year now I have had recurrent swollen lymph node in the right side of my neck. No other symptoms, no fever, cough, etc. It occurs every 2-6wks approx. Last week it started again and this time has lasted longer than any previous incident, and starting yesterday I can feel a lot of pressure in my head and face; like being choked when the blood flow to the brain is impeded. I am a 34yr old female. With lots of autoimmune type symptoms, family hx of autoimmune disease but all tests in the past have always come back negative. I'm frustrated and a little scared now with the pressure in my face as this has never been this bad before. It started after a bout with illness that was suspected to be mono but monospot was negative. That was over a year ago. Have terrible fatigue but I always have had that. I'm very concerned that this lymph node is pressing on vein or artery and causing the facial pressure. If I bend over, I feel like tremendous increase in the pressure. Lymph node is painful too, every time it swells it is painful as though I have the flu but no other symptoms of illness.

if there is no other features, than I m not much worried about any serious thing. But still biopsy of enlarge lymph node will give a definitive diagnosis. You need to see a surgeon or ENT specialist for this.
