What Causes Recurring Attacks Of Vertigo?

default
Posted on Mon, 8 Sep 2014
Question: I have been suffering with bouts of vertigo since January 2013. I had an MRI done and it showed a little cloudiness and the radiology report stated I had several tiny fissures on my brain. It said possible early MS. I was sent to a neurologist and he's treating it as migraine. He doesn't think it's MS. Now I have a Psoriasis looking rash on my neck that seems to be spreading. My blood pressure us good and my sugar levels are okay. Now I am getting these light headed issues when I don't eat for a while. It feels like I'm losing consciousness. Should I be concerned?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I went through the query and understood your concern.

Regarding the Vertigo, MRI and MS? you need to follow your neurologist instruction.

For psoriasis, you should continue using topical steroids, and if severe with your doctor guidance the next level of drugs like methotrexate may be started along with monitoring your liver enzymes. Avoid stress and worries as this can worsen psoriasis. Avoid bad habit like smoking, tobacco and alcoholic beverages.

For light headed issues when you don't eat for a while, the cause may be hypoglycaemia, where in the sugar level reduces and hence light headedness. So no need to worry much but have nutritious food more often like every 3 hours and have at regular timings. Check for blood sugar (FBS, PPBS) once. Regular outdoor exercise for 30 min will have good effect on your health.

I hope this information helps you and answered your query. Feel free to ask for any further queries. I will be glad to answer them.
Wish you good health and faster recovery.
