What Causes Recurring Bump Filled With Fluid Below Nipple?

default
Posted on Thu, 19 Feb 2015
Question: For quite some time now, I've had what feels like a lump of pooled liquid under my right nipple. Sometimes it swells and then it shrinks for awhile then comes back. If I squeeze the nipple, pus mixed with some blood will come out. What could be the cause of this? I'm 42 years old and weigh 330 lbs.

Brief Answer:
This appears to be infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello

I understand you have repeated fluid (pus) collection below nipple.

This is commonly due to Infection of mammary gland ducts /lobes/lobules.

This is infection if untreated leads to collection of pus under the nipplle and repeated bouts of pus discharge as you are experiencing.

Hence you need to see a surgeon for examination of breast and need to remove the infected part surgically through a small incision and send the tissue for pathological confirmation .

This can be treated and hence dont worry about it.
