What Causes Recurring Chest Pain Post VSL 3 Withdrawal?
You are mostly having stress related chest pain.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on HCM.
VSL 3 is probiotic. And rifagut is gut specific antibiotic (rifaxime).
Both are used in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Stress is common risk factor for IBS.
Ganaton total is having pantoprazole. It is proton pump inhibitors (antacid). This is also stress related.
So possibility of stress related chest pain is more in your case.
Stress is one of the biggest risk factor for GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease).
And this might be the cause for your chest pain.

Get an ecg done first.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on HCM.
At your age of 51 years, with stressful life, cardiac risk is more.
So chest pain should be evaluated for cardiac cause first. And get done ecg first. If ecg is normal then you are mostly having GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease).
Please let me know
1. Have you ever consulted psychiatrist?
2.. Are you smoker?
3. Do you take alcohol?

1. I have not consulted a pyschiatrist, nor advised to.
2. No, I dont smoke
3. No alcohol either, except company peg more than a month apart.
Can you suggest the way ahead. Should I be continuing with Ganaton total (before breakfast every day), Rifagut 400 twice a day (for 15 days and therafter for 15 days VSL3). Apart from these, I take BP tablet Amlopres AT (BP under control, normally 85/130) and Glyciphage for Diabetes (again under control remaining around 130).
Better to consult psychiatrist and follow these lifestyle modifications.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on HCM.
Your all symptoms are stress related only.
So better to consult psychiatrist and get done counseling sessions. Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on its solution.
You may need anxiolytic drugs too.
Also follow these lifestyle modifications.
1. Avoid stress and tension.
2. Avoid hot and spicy food.
3. Avoid large meals, instead take frequent small meals.
4. Go for walk after meals.
5. Keep 2-3 pillows under head in the bed to prevent reflux.
If you follow these steps then you will not need any of the drugs.
