What Causes Recurring Fever In A 2 Year Old?
Question: Hello doctor
My niece is 2 and half year old. She is used to get fever every month from last 8-9 months. This fever always associated with cough and cold suffering from cough and cold. We visited to allopathic doctor and the doctor prescribed her Crocin (Paracetamol) Syrup, Cough syrup having expectorant and Advent syrup (amoxycillin and clavulanic acid) or sometimes they prescribed Cefixime syrup. When i asked the reason from doctor why is she getting fever each and every month. Doctor said this is due to weather changes. Doctor also wrote some test for the baby. Test were Blood test and Urine culture test. After test doctor has observed that Hemoglobin and iron count is low. Baby was also suffering from calcium deficiency. So he prescribed Iron and calcium supplement. These test were done 3 months ago.
And now from last 3-4 days, baby is suffering from Cough and cold. Secretion from her nose is sometimes watery or green-white color. When she coughs, it seems that something has been stuck in his throat or chest. It may be due to mucus. So today i decided to visit to a homeopath. I told the homeopathy doctor about all the history that i have mentioned above. After this Homeopath concluded that baby's T-cells has been destroyed due to paracetamol or antibiotic. He said that do not give her paracetamol if she gets fever in near future. He also said that you can also give the paracetamol syrup to baby if baby's fever is more than 103 degree. He said Let the baby recover by itself.
Doctor i want to make sure from you that whatever the homeopathy doctor is saying is correct or not. Should we discontinue the paracetamol syrup if she get the fever in near future if not then at what temp should we have to give the paracetamol syrup to baby if baby gets the fever???

This is very early to detect the cause repeated fever.
At first instance it seems that there is some infection residing in her lung that cause repeated fever.
Regarding T cell it may be the reason but can be ruled out only after study of reports.
Please provide me current medication and homoeopathic medicine prescribed by doctor.
After that i could advice in details and in better manner.
This condition can be treated effectively by homoeopathic medicine. I would suggest you to not use allopathic medicine as it affect health and has its own side effect.

Homeopathy Doctor prescribed her following medicine
1. Kofeez cough syrup
2. Albendazole 10 ml
there are two more medicines. I am unable to read the name of those medicine as i am unable to understand the handwriting of the homeopathy doctor.
Doctor i am unable to understand the connection between albendazole and cough. Is it possible that a person can suffer from cough due to tapeworm or roundworms or hookworms in the body??
Does Albendazole really helps in relieving the cough and is it safe to give albendazole to 2 and half year kid??

Possibility of side effect of paracetamol cannot be ignored. Overdose of Analgesic leads to such problem. But to make final comments on this whether in your case paracetamol is destroying T cell certain test is required.
I would suggest you to avoid Allopathic medicine.
Some time tapewarm, hookwarm cause dry cough reflex and may be your physician has diagnosed the presence of worm and prescribed Albendazole. Albendazole is given for a time period only if you have completed the course then you can stop the medicine.
Kofeez is prescribed in case of cough with Asthma like symptom and i don't think she is having any such complain. so i would suggest you to stop Kofeez.
Your case seems to be case of lung infection and that is causing repeated cough and infection. over dose of allopathic medicine is complicating the disease.
I would suggest you some homeopathic medicine if you wish you can start as prescribed
1 R-9 10 drops with half cup of water two times in day
2 Antim Tart 30 6 pills twice in day
3 Ipecauc 30 4 pills 4 times in day
4 XXXXXXX Bich 200 4 drops on tongue in the morning empty stomach (you can also mix 4 drops in spoon water and give her orally)
5 Cina 30 6 pills twice in day
6 Ferrum Phos 3x 3 pills three times in day
Take the medicine for 20 days and revert to me mentioning the improvement.
Medicine are safe to use and has no side effect.
Medicine will cure infection and also remove the cough from lung. I have also prescribed the medicine for fever.
Avoid- Cold , Cold Things
