What Causes Recurring Head Colds, Chest Infection, Sinus And Acne In A Teenager?
1 17 year old son’s as had asymptomatic concerning renal test results believed to orthostatic protenuria although no high blood pressure. He’s also been sleeping a lot easily 12 hrs for last year which indicates more than just growing. History was he was going to go on Roaccutane for acne in Oct 2015 when tests came back showing high protein and creatanine in blood (protein/creatinine ratio from 24 hr test 144mg/mmol), slightly elevated bilirubin ,WBC & neutrohpils low. Further tests done after his exams when no stress (abt 6 weeks) later showed higher protein/creatinine levels so getting worse. Kidney scan fine.
I noticed he was also developing sinusitis, possible allergic reaction (coloured discharge) and blood nose so got air purifier which cleared this immediately so starting looking at aggravating environmental factors- contaminants from carpet/vehicle emissions etc and only have mould results back so far.
2 Understand acne hormone related but wondering if this would aggravate that condition? Person treating his skin thought it would definitely due to infection forming within skin from microscopic mould spores.
2 Would daughter’s recent CMV/EBV and subsequent immuno compromise be aggravated by this?
3 Would my recurrent head colds, upper chest infections, sinus problems etc be caused by this.
We are in process of finding new place to live but would help to know this better

Your recurrent head colds, chest infection, sinus problems can be due to this
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Answer to your 1st question.
Your son's sinus issues can be due to these allergens and toxic mounds.
Answer to your 2nd question.
Acne in mostly due to bacterial infection along with hormonal changes. And bacterial infection can aggravate in presence of skin allergens like penicillium and aspergillus. So his acne problem can also be due to these allergens.
Answer to your 3rd question.
About your daughter's disease, I don't think these allergens can cause immunosuppressive disease. But yes, aspergillus infection can occur in patients with immunosuppressive diseases. So your daughter is at risk of development of fungal diseases.
Answer to your 4th question.
Yes, your recurrent head colds, upper chest infection and sinus problems can be due to these fungi and mold.
