What Causes Recurring Hives In A Atrial Fibrillation Patient?

Question: My husband went in with what we thought was bronchitis in November. Turned out he was in afib with CHF. he's 37, no family history. He had hives for about 6 months prior to diagnosis. Went in with 10% faction (?), now up to 45% with meds. Hives have started returning, he's still on meds. Are they related?

Dear Mrs,

Hives are not related to atrial fibrillation and heart failure.
Very rarely hives can be observed in patients with myocarditis and infective endocarditis, but it seems, that your husband has non of these conditions.
I would advise you to check if he has thyroid problems, as it also can cause atrial fibrillation and heart failure.
Sometimes in young people can be atrial fibrillation without any other reason. And CHF can be caused by fast tachycardia.
If no other cause is found, usually patients are advised atrial fibrillation ablation, it is a procedure, which gives an opportunity to get rid of atrial fibrillation.
For hives, I would advise to test any allergies and connective tissue disorders. Sometimes connective tissue disorders also can cause atrial fibrillation.
