What Causes Recurring Minor Chest Pain?

Question: What action to be taken for a minor chest pain which comes for 10 minutes and goes off ? Is it may be due to stress ?
Brief Answer:
worthwhile to check heart state...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Yes, minor chest pain that lasts for few minutes is unlikely from the heart. As you pointed out it could be from stress related events. However I encourage my patients to rule out other organic problems arising from the heart and digestive systems in all cases of chest pain.
Hence it is a good idea to consult a physician and get some basic investigations done. I would perform complete hemogram, ECG, blood sugar, blood pressure checkup, fasting lipid profile and chest X-ray in such cases. If needed you will see a cardiologist and plan for stress test and echocardiogram.
I do hope it is a minor concern and you are not bothered by it.
Regards
