What Causes Recurring Painful White Bump On Tongue Frenulum?

default
Posted on Mon, 16 Jun 2014
Question: I have a recurring very small somewhat painful white bump on the front edge of my tongue frenulum after performing oral sex with my girlfriend. It originally popped up monday, then went away after a couple days, then last night I had oral sex with with my girlfriend and this morning it popped up again. The tongue frenulum itself isn't swollen, but the white bump hurts if my tongue stretches too far a certain way.

Brief Answer:
Wharton's duct inflammation

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The most common condition presenting the way you describe is Wharton's duct inflammation. This is not serious but it occurs very frequently. Yes, you performing oral sex can act as a trigger.

You may have to wash your mouth with antiseptic solutions like CHLORHEXIDINE twice daily after food. If not subsiding then do apply antibiotic mouth paint to the lesion you have.

Hope, I answered your query.
