What Causes Red And Flaky Skin On The Right Side Of Scrotum?

default
Posted on Sat, 1 Aug 2015
Question: Hello, I have just returned home from a 7 day camping trip up north. I did not shower at all until yesterday morning. I was just about to take a shower when I noticed that part of the top of my penile shaft, and the right side of my scrotum were red and flaky, however there was little to no irritation. I was involved in oral sex last night and received a hand job 2 nights ago. I am curious to know what it is that I have, and how it is best treated.

Brief Answer:
Start the following treatment and some lifestyle modifications.

Detailed Answer:
Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I will take care all of your medical concerns.

Such lesions are seen mostly in travellers, chefs, and drivers and it is due to the warmth and humidity in the area. It has nothing to do with sexual practices you had on the trip. It is due to the fungal infection and called as jock itch.

Take plenty of fluids and keep the area dry and clean. Wear all-cotton underwears only. Put on loose clothes for proper ventilation. Tight clothings will aggravate the issue. Avoid sex for a couple of days. Take shower only with Oatmeal milk and honey body wash. It will soothe you a lot.

Apply hydrocortisone cream, and clotrimazole cream, both on the affected areas. Take tablet claritin for itching. It's all needed in medications. You will feel the difference once started the treatment.

Have a wonderful time ahead. Hope I answered all of your questions. Let me know if you have any further clinical concerns. I will be happy to get back to you shortly. If satisfied here, please give a five star rating and don't forget to close the discussion.

Regards!
