What Causes Red And Sore Rash On The Bottom Of Lips?
Question: Have red, sore, a little raised irritated skin just below my bottom lip/chin about over a cm in diameter. Been about 4-5 weeks. When I leave the area i get what look like a tiny cluster of never ending yellow headed spots that can crust over. it scabs over, and then i hoped skin would heal underneath and return to normal. Scab/crust formed and fell away - But over days, yellow heads form in same place or very near by (within mm) and cycle begins again. Tried keeping area sterile and leaving. Cleaning and applying sudocrem or savalon too. Closest thing I can see to it, sort of looks like ring worm perhaps but the yellow heads look much cleaner than those I saw on the online pics, although there area is red, spotty, sore. Not sure what to try. I'm healthy, have a balanced diet, keep fit and drink lot's of water.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have reviewed the attached photograph and gone through your history.
It is looking like sycosis barbae which is bacterial infection of the hair follicles.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you take oral antibiotics like capsule amoxicillin clavulanic acid combination 625 mg twice daily for 10 days and apply topical antibiotic like mupirocin cream or fusidic acid cream on the affected areas twice daily for 10 days.
This should resolve the problem.
These are prescription medicines and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
