What Causes Red Bumps At The Back Of Tongue And Nausea?

Thanks for posting the query; I will try my best to help you with this problem.
The red bumps seen behind the tongue could either the inflamed lymphoid follicles or the taste buds. The plague accumulation is the normal coating over the leathery tongue due to the food we take.
The inflammation over the back of the tongue is noticed in few conditions such as, infection of the upper respiratory tract, smoking and acid reflux from the stomach into the throat.
After going through the short history, I do believe, it could be secondary to the acid reflux. When the acid from the stomach regurgitates into the throat, it irritates the throat and causes inflammation of the mucosa. This is one of the reasons for nausea.
Do not worry! All the above problems are very simple and treatable. My suggestions to you are:
1. Dink plenty of warm water.
2. Avoid chilled food & beverages/coffee/tea/smoking/alcohol (if any).
3. Try taking povidone iodine throat spray or gargles to reduce the inflammation.
