What Causes Red Dot On Upper Lip?
Question: Hello. I have had a small red dot on my top lip for at least 4 months now. It does not hurt and has not really increased at size at all. However I still do not want it on my lip. I think from what I have researched on my own that it is angioma. Can you please confirm if it is and what I can do to remove it. I will attach a picture. Thanks so much
Brief Answer:
Angioma
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query.
It is looking like angioma.
It can be easily removed using radiofrequency ablation.
You need to meet a dermatologist.
Creams like tretinoin are also helpful but the response is very slow.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.

Ok Thanks. Will both the radiofrequency ablation and tretinoin cause a scab. If the angioma will gradually get smaller and disappear with the tretinoin and not cause a scab I think I would go that route. Thanks
Brief Answer:
There won't be scarring
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Don't worry about scarring.
Lips are highly vascular, there won't be scarring even if you go for radio frequency.
Tretinoin will help you but it might take months.
Be careful to apply Tretinoin only on the lesion and not on the surrounding area.
Thank you.
