What Causes Red Dots On Tongue And Blister On Lip?

Could be Mucositis of the tongue and mucocele of the lips...
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting the query
The little red dots are the inflamed tongue papillae. The commonest causes are:
1. Consumption of food which can cause irritation of the mucosa such as, hot/chilled food, spicy food, chips, coffee, wafers, etc.
2. Poor dental hygiene
3. Sharp teeth brushing over the mucosal surface of the tongue
4. Dehydration
5. Vitamin deficiency
6. Smoking
Recurrent blisters on the lip could be the mucocele. When the opening of the minor salivary gland gets blocked the saliva produced will not be able to come out of the gland. Meanwhile, the production of the saliva continues causing ballooning of the gland. Consumption of adequate amounts of water can reduce this problem.
Treatment is aimed at avoiding the cause of the mucosal inflammation.
1. Drink plenty of warm water - warm water, improves the blood circulation and reduces the inflammation.
2. Avoid those irritant foods mentioned above and smoking (if any).
3. Get a dental check up done.
4. Consume plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, this will boost up the immunity and helps in regrowth of the mucosa.
5. OTC medicines such as Medijel or Teejel can be tried to reduce the inflammation. Vitamin B-complex supplements will help in repair of the damaged mucosa.
Hope I have answered your query; I will be available for the follow-up queries.
