What Causes Red Rashes In The Anal Region Of An Infant?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Let me assure you that for children up to 3 months of age it is normal to get rashes on the skin. It is called erythema toxicum. Unlike the name, it is absolutely harmless and needs no intervention and is not a cause for concern. Sometimes some white dots called milia can also be present along. They too are not a cause for concern and are caused due to deposition of dead cells under the skin. No intervention needed. You can, however, use some moisturizer like aloe vera lotion.
For confirmation, however, I would insist you upload an image of the rashes.
Regarding the rashes in the perianal area, possibly they are diaper rashes. Such rashes occur due to the remnant moisture in the diapers and therefore the primary thing that you need to do is to ensure that area remains dry. Unless dryness of the area is ensured (at all times), there would not be enough time for healing to occur and it is needless to say that the diaper rash would persist. I understand that it might be hard to do without diapers, but you have to give it a dry. Use baby powder or a nappy cream if needed. Be patient.
For a baby of this age, it is normal to pass stool several times a day or even after each feed. Alternatively, the child may pass stool once in 10 days and that is normal too. Unless the stool is hard and pellet-like, you need not grow concerned. It is also normal to pass green stool or a combination of yellow stool. The green colour occurs due to rapid transit through large intestine where the bile pigments do not get adequate time to convert to the yellow colour of stool.
Hope I have answered your query.
