What Causes Red Rashes On Shins?
Question: Thank you. I have had some swelling anddiscomfort in my right ankle and shin area. Also have a small redness in this same shin area. I had a test to see if there was any circulatory issues such as a blood clot and it was negative. It was noticed that I had some enlarged lymph nodes in in groin area and believe that a CAT scan will be ordered. With this little information any idea what may be my issue?

Swelling in leg and ankle with redness and enlarged groin node points to some cellulitis in soft tissues of leg with infection or without it, the lymphitics of lower leg drain into groin node and may account for its swelling
A doctor should examine and take history of any local injury,history of any fever,chills or rigors.Lookfor recent cuts or bruises in feet or eg,signs of swelling with pitting or non-pitting, any other body nodes enlarged or not
Acourse of anti-inflammatory medicines and an antibiotic short course may be needed.
A blood test for Total and differential leucocytic count.absolut eosinophil count,ESR..A thick night blood film for any parasites in blood(micofilaria if non-pitting swelling)
Overall, it is not a difficult condition and shall heal soon with medicines and is easy to diagnose and treat
