What Causes Red Small Bump On Thumb After A Scratch?

Question: I dont know if i should take this serious or if its absecss. I scratched myself with my keys on my thumb and days later a small little red bump appereaed. Is it an infection and will it just solve on its own. The red small bump is on top of the small scratch

if you could post a picture of the lesion then it may help answer your question.

signs of infection are increasing redness, warmth, pain and discharge.

sometimes a small raised red area can occur with normal healing.

it's not easy to make out any significant abnormality on that particular shot.

a wider view of all the whole finger in extension with the other fingers for comparison would be a little better.

I really can see nothing that you should be concerned about. the small red mark over the joint on your thumb is healing nicely. the small abrasion over your knuckle looks quite innocent.
