Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query in healthcaremagic.com
This is Dr. Swarnava dattagupta answering your query.

I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
This red spot in eye or blood in the white of eye is called as subconjunctival hemorrhage. It is common and can be due to causes like trauma to eye, coughing, sneezing or straining. The pressure causes break in small blood vessels leading to red spot. One major cause can be hypertension. So if he is hypertensive, you need to check or monitor his blood pressure or at least get it checked once even if he is not. Otherwise do not worry. Only look for symptoms like eye pain or difficulty in vision. If these are present, you need to visit a doctor. Otherwise, it will heal on its own in a couple of weeks.
Any eye drops or medication is generally not required.

Hope i have answered your question.
If you have any further questions i will be happy to help.
Regards
